Temporary Solution Requires Bespoke Catchpot

A small project at Fleetwood Water Treatment Works saw a requirement for a specially made catchpot along with FT Pipelines Protectaflex dual contained dosing hose.

An existing chemical storage tank had started to leak and they needed to connect a temporary tank to the feed to the dosing rigs. The temporary lines were installed using 50mm Protectaflex VH, with a swaged flange at the tank end and the connection to the existing rigid double containment lines were carried out inside a special catchpot with a 3-way ball valve inside.

This was done so that when the existing tank was replaced, they could use both the temporary and fixed tanks to supply the chemical dosing system.

Rosewood Engineering completed the installation for United Utilities in less than a day and were very pleased with the solution offered by the Dual Containment division of FT Pipeline Systems to solve the problem.
