Secure Your AMP8 Supply Now – FT Pipeline Systems is Ready

As the water industry prepares for an unprecedented AMP8 investment of over £100 billion – more than double that of AMP7 – the pressure is mounting on the supply chain to deliver on time, across multiple large-scale projects. FT Pipeline Systems (FTPS) is ahead of the curve.

We’ve already scaled our capacity to meet the demands of AMP8, positioning ourselves as the most reliable source for coated and lined DWI 31.4.a steel water pipes, fittings, Canusa heat shrink sleeves, and pipe spacer solutions in the UK.

Over the past two years alone, FTPS has delivered:

  • 140km of large-diameter steel water pipe
  • Over 2,000 bespoke fittings
  • Thousands of Canusa sleeves and spacers

This has been across nine major infrastructure projects, including HS2, Tees Strategic Main, Heads of the Valley, and Anglian Water region schemes.

Now, we’re ready for more…

Increased Production and Resilience in the Supply Chain

Our mill partner, Erciyas, has increased its production capacity by 600,000 tonnes per annum (up 25%) with the acquisition of the Mersin plant, to ensure DWI 31.4.a Ejoint/socket pipework for the UK market is readily available.

The supply chain for Ejoint/socket fittings has been significantly strengthened, with two UK-based manufacturers now investing in equipment, coating lines and our French partners installing new PU and PE machines, and drying ovens.

Strategic Stock, Technology, and Storage Expansion

We’ve expanded our UK warehousing and stockholding to reduce lead times – including pipe-in-pipe spacer systems that previously relied on overseas shipments. This product range can be applied to all pipe materials; steel, PE, plastic, GRP at all diameters, and the smaller bow range can be applied to rock anchors, spindles and other smaller diameter structures.

Our next-generation pipe tracking system is in development, providing real-time on-site access to key product information via smartphone – improving efficiency and transparency on site, and minimizing the chances for human error to impacting on deliveries. To add to this, our Group Operations Director, Nick Shaw, recently completed an IGEM course and is now a qualified site coatings inspector.
