Whilst Covid-19 continues to cause global difficulties, FTPS have continued with shipment of 900 mm steel water pipes for a strategically important water scheme for a leading UK water authority. The pipework was already in production and latterly transit when the UK authorities started shutting down the UK as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
With the vessel chartered and on the way FTPS continued to plan to accept the pipework as normal, providing assurance to the customer and their inspection team that social distancing was achievable.
The vessel docked on the 14th April and was discharged within a day. Inspection works took two days and were achieved using vacuum lifting technology.
