£5 million of Steel Pipe Orders

The market isn’t easy – all supply chains have seen commodity prices increasing from pipe materials (steel, DI and plastic) to fuel and energy costs. This is coupled with the Brexit hangover and the lingering Covid pandemic… and now the Ukraine/Russia conflict… there is a lot to deal with.

So, how are FT managing the order book? By buying ahead and booking rates, coupled with a pragmatic and open communication policy with the end clients and their contractors. The communication lines remain open and the supply chain, be that the mill, Erciyas, or fabrication partners (Lortub and PowerRun), continue to source the right quality of materials to honour the customer’s requirements.

Since the start of 2022 through to the end of March, the steel pipe orders, with spacers and Canusa shrink sleeves, is in excess of £5M turnover with seven major schemes accounting for the bulk of the business. Spacer sales for pipe in pipe solutions – be they for PE, DI or steel – utilising either APS’ wheeled solution, or the plastic options from KwikZip or 4 Pipes (each line offers a different solution both commercially and technically) – have soared, with now a recognised portfolio of products to suit a range of applications.
