Pipes & Fittings Supplied to Severn Ham Project
Posted on Oct 20, 2021FT Pipeline Systems was recently awarded the supply work for the recent Severn Ham project in Tewkesbury. Severn Trent needed to replace just under 1.6 miles of water pipes under the Severn Ham with brand new pipes in order to provide the area with a more resilient water supply.
We supplied 3 layer polyethylene coated steel potable water pipes and fittings in 800mm and 900mm diameters. We were able to assist with rationalising the on-site requirements by providing an ‘as-fit’ solution; this involved fabricating a number of spool pieces off-site thereby removing field welds to help reduce installation costs. The bespoke fittings were manufactured to suit the client’s requirement with the result being a ‘jigsaw’ for the contractor to fit together. Thanks to the expertise and attention to detail which our fabrication partner Lortub delivered, the solution worked as intended.
Our client, Geda Construction Ltd, made the following comment:
“The quality of the design including 3D drawings was very good and instrumental in supporting construction onsite. It is also noted that Ian Harding attended site himself on a number of occasions to support quality assurance, which is rarely seen from suppliers and is to be commended.”
