Successful Pipe Inspections at both Mill and Fabrication Shop
Posted on Apr 01, 2019FT Pipeline Systems has recently carried out audits at both our mill facility and fabrication shop witnessed by both the client and contractor on a major aqueduct requirement ordered by a leading UK water authority. A full inspection of the coating and lining application, including the detailed examination of the testing and verification procedures, took place to the satisfaction of all. Central to the audit was the witnessing of application followed by both destructive and non-destructive test methods as agreed in the quality plans.
Further, a thorough examination of the E Joint and socket production of both factories confirmed that the critical tolerances required to ensure first-time fitting on site were being adhered to. To assist with the site fitting a specially devised cross-brace has been used in both pipe ends to mitigate the risk of ovality during the shipping of the product.
The 1600mm diameter pipes will be delivered into UK docks where our experienced discharge and docks team will carry out checks and execute the delivery phase to site.
